What is Provident Fund (PF) Registration?
EPF registration brings an establishment under the Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, requiring the employer to contribute, alongside the employee, a fixed percentage of wages into the Employees' Provident Fund managed by the EPFO. It becomes mandatory once an establishment employs 20 or more persons, though smaller establishments can also register voluntarily. Once registered, the employer is issued an establishment code and is responsible for monthly contributions, timely deposit of dues, and filing of electronic challans covering all eligible employees.
