SERVICE OVERVIEW

What is Import Export Code?

The Import Export Code (IEC) is a 10-digit registration issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) that is mandatory for any business or individual wishing to import or export goods and services from India. Since 2021, the IEC is linked to and largely mirrors the applicant's PAN, and no separate renewal is required, though the details must be confirmed annually on the DGFT portal. Customs authorities require a valid IEC to clear shipments, and banks require it to process related foreign currency payments and receipts.
