GST Return Filing

Every GST-registered business must file periodic returns declaring sales, purchases and tax liability — missing a due date attracts late fees and interest that add up quickly.

TAX SERVICE OVERVIEW

What is GST Return Filing?

GST return filing is the periodic process through which a registered taxpayer reports business transactions and tax liabilities to the Goods and Services Tax department. It involves reporting details of outward supplies, inward supplies, input tax credit available and claimed, and the net GST payable for the relevant tax period. The return filing process helps ensure that the transactions recorded in the business books are properly reported and reconciled with the applicable GST records.

Depending on the taxpayer's registration type, turnover, business activity and applicable compliance requirements, GST returns may be filed on a monthly or quarterly basis. Common returns include GSTR-1, which primarily reports outward supplies, and GSTR-3B, which provides a summary of taxable supplies, input tax credit and tax payment information. Eligible taxpayers may also be required to file the annual return in Form GSTR-9.

Proper and timely GST return filing is important for maintaining an accurate compliance record, claiming eligible input tax credit and avoiding unnecessary interest, late fees and departmental notices. We assist with return preparation, transaction review, input tax credit reconciliation and timely submission of applicable GST returns.

01
Compile sales and purchase data. Invoices, credit notes and purchase records for the period are collected and organised.
02
Reconcile input tax credit. Purchase data is matched against GSTR-2B to identify and resolve mismatches before filing.
03
Prepare GSTR-1. Outward supply details are compiled and filed to report your sales for the period.
04
Prepare and file GSTR-3B. Summary return is prepared, tax liability is computed after adjusting available credit and return is filed.
