The requirement depends on annual turnover and scale of operation. FSSAI Basic Registration applies to small food businesses, State Licence applies to medium-sized manufacturers, restaurants and traders operating within one state, while Central Licence applies to large operators, importers, exporters and businesses operating across multiple states.
